Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Watkins Glen
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch had a great car last year at Watkins Glen but finished an asterisk mark 7th. “Performance Wise” his car might’ve been the best, but his afternoon was far from incident free. In the race he started on the pole and led the entire opening segment. Then during the Stage caution while leading he pitted a second time which dropped him to the back of the pack. During Stage #2 he raced hard and finished 9th in that segment. During the opening lap of the final Stage in the bus stop turn, him and Keselowski had contact and Busch spun which dropped him back to the thirties. All of those problems makes his 7th place finish pretty respectable.

Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski had a strong car last year at Watkins Glen. “Strength Wise” I have him listed as having the 3rd best car. When you look at his 15th place finish you would never know it. From lap 57 until he pitted from the lead with 3 laps to go for more fuel he consistently ran in the top 2. When he made his late pit stop he was penalized for driving through too many pit stalls. If that didn’t happen he still would’ve finished in the top ten.
Joey Logano – Last year at Watkins Glen, Joey Logano finished 24th. “Performance Wise” he was likely top ten good. In Stage #1 he finished 7th and then during the Stage caution he had a slow stop that dropped him back 15 positions. While he was back in traffic he had contact with another car that impacted his handling and led to him finishing 24th.
