Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Las Vegas
Kurt Busch – Kurt Busch was competitive thing spring at Las Vegas but finished a misleading 35th. In the race he finished 7th in Stage #1, 8th in Stage #2, but with 85 laps to go while he was running just outside the top five he had contact with Chase Elliott and totaled his car. If his race would’ve been incident free I think he would’ve finished in the top ten and been in contention for a top five.
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott had a strong car earlier this year at Las Vegas but finished an asterisk mark 34th. In the race he finished 8th in Stage #1, 9th in Stage #2, but with 85 laps to go while he was running just outside the top five he had contact with Kurt Busch and wrecked. If his race would’ve been incident free I think it’s clear he would’ve finished in the top ten and would’ve been in contention for a top five.
Jamie McMurray – Las Vegas has been a good track for Jamie McMurray. Since 2012 minus the race this spring he has an 11.8 average finish. Earlier this year he had a great chance to have a result right around his average finish but with 92 laps to go while he was running in 11th he wrecked. If he would’ve had an incident free race I think he likely would’ve finished just outside the top ten.
