Aric Almirola – Early in practice while he was 3rd he said, “Tight and on the splitter on entry.” Following his second run he said, “I’m not sure that was any better.” Late in practice he said, “The balance is a little off, but the car feels good. I don’t know if that makes any sense.” His average speed ranked as the 7th best.
Clint Bowyer – Following his opening run which put him 12th his crew chief told him his lap times were “pretty decent.” Had the best ten lap average. Said he was loose at the end.
Regan Smith– Following his opening run he reported, “Pretty loose already. The front was too positive and then the right rear started sliding like it was on ice.” Near the end of practice while he was 8th he said, “The left-front just goes straight into the corner in 1 & 2. It’s not so bad in 3 but it just feels like it gets locked up. Took care of where it was loose, but now when it picks up the load it just won’t respond.”
