Charlotte Roval NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

Brad Keselowski – 35 minutes into practice he climbed up to the top of the speed chart. Wrecked 40 minutes into practice. He’ll be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field. He hit the “turtle” on the front stretch chicane. Had the best average speed.

Alex Bowman – 30 minutes into practice while he was 8th he said, “Lose forward drive and get loose into the turn.” After Keselowski crashed his crew chief said, “Bring it to me. We are done with practice guys. Good job this weekend. Let’s get ready to race.” Ended the session 15th.

Denny Hamlin – Got a little bit of damage when he ran over a “turtle.””Check the left front, I hit the turtles really hard.” He said the steering wheel is different but the car isn’t driving too crazy. Ended the session 20th.

Clint Bowyer – His team thinks surviving will be big in the race. He ended the session 13th. He said his speed was fine.

AJ Allmendinger – Early in practice he messed up on a chicane which would’ve resulted as a penalty in the race. Had good speed and was 4th on the speed chart ten minutes into practice. He reported his lateral grip is better. He ended the session 7th.
