Talladega Fantasy NASCAR Confidence Ranking Picks
1) Joey Logano (Starting – 20th)
Talladega Fantasy Spin – Joey Logano is an elite restrictor plate racer who’ll be a favorite at Talladega. He raced his way to victory lane this spring, and he’s won 3 of the last 6 races. In fall Talladega races he’s been the man to beat. Over the last three October races he’s won twice, has the best driver rating, a 2.0 average finish and has led a series high 124 laps. This weekend you’ll be hard pressed to find a better option. On Sunday I think Logano has a great chance to finish in the top five and compete for the win.
Talladega Track History – Joey Logano has run extremely well at Talladega and in recent races he’s arguably been the best performer. Earlier this year he was the class of the field and raced his way to victory lane. In the race he finished 2nd in Stage #1 & #2, led a race high 70 laps, earned the best driver rating and had a 6th place average running position. Last fall, Logano had a strong showing and finished 4th despite being involved in a wreck that damaged his car. Additionally, he earned the best driver rating and led a race high 59 laps. In spring 2017 he finished a misleading 32nd after getting collected in a late “Big One.” Two laps prior to his demise he was running in 5th. In fall 2016 Logano had a great car and raced his way to victory lane after leading the final 45 laps. In fall 2015 he won his first race at Talladega.

2) Brad Keselowski (Starting – 18th)
Talladega Fantasy Spin – Brad Keselowski is widely regarded as the best Talladega driver and on Sunday he’ll be the main to beat. At Talladega he’s thrived though out his career. He’s a five-time winner who’s finished in the top five 37% percent of the time and in the top ten 58% percent of the time. At restrictor plate tracks, Keselowski knows how to race his way to the front and once he gets there he’s hard to get around.
Talladega Track History – Brad Keselowski has been a very successful performer at Talladega. This spring he had a great but finished 33rd after getting collected in a wreck with 23 laps to go. From the race it should be noted he won Stage #1, finished just outside the top ten in Stage #2 (got a speeding penalty in that Stage) and led 21 laps. Last fall he had a great car and raced his way to victory lane. In the race he won Stage #1, finished 2nd in Stage #2 and led 7 laps. In spring 2017, he had a good performance. He finished 7th, earned the 2nd best driver rating, won Stage #1 and led 31 laps. In fall 2016 his car was exceptionally strong and if he didn’t have an engine failure he was going to be the driver beat. Prior to his engine failure he led 90 laps. In spring 2016 he had a great car and raced his way to victory lane. In addition to finishing first he earned the best driver rating, led the most laps (46) and had a 5th place average running position.

3) Chase Elliott (Starting – 5th) Portions of this content are hidden. To view this ifantasyrace advantage content log in or join the site
Talladega Fantasy Spin – Chase Elliott will be a contender at Talladega. He’s a strong plate racer and he’s locked into the next round of the Playoffs so there’s no question that he’ll race hard. At Talladega he’s run really well in many of the recent races even though some of his results don’t show it. On Sunday if he has an incident free race I think he’ll be a factor to win.
Talladega Track History – Chase Elliott has run well at Talladega and over the last three races he’s been a top five contender. Earlier this year he had his best Talladega race. He finished 3rd and earned the 7th best driver rating. Last fall he was a contender to win but with 6 laps to go while he was battling three-wide for the lead he wrecked which led to his 16th place finish. If he didn’t wreck I think he would’ve had a great chance to win. In spring 2017 he ran well but was collected in the late “Big One.” Two laps prior to the accident he was running in 3rd. In fall 2016 he ran extremely well. He finished 12th, earned the 8th best driver rating, had a 7th place average running position and led 9 laps. In his spring 2016 Talladega debut he finished 5th, earned the 3rd best driver rating and led 27 laps.
