Martinsville Fantasy NASCAR Confidence Ranking Picks
1) Kyle Busch (Starting – 1st)
Martinsville Fantasy Spin – Kyle Bush will be the driver to beat at Martinsville. He’s a super-elite performer at this half-mile track and over the last six races he has 2 wins, 4 results in the top 2 and has finished in the top five every race. Also over this six race stretch he has the best average finish (2.7), best average running position (4.0), best driver rating and has led the most laps (837). Performing well at short tracks takes a certain driving mentality and this year on this track type nobody has scored more points than Kyle Busch. In practice, Kyle Busch was fast. In practice #1 he had the 5th best ten lap average and the best average speed. In Happy Hour he had the best ten lap average and the 4th best average speed. On Sunday I would look for Busch to finish in the top five and be a serious threat to win.
Martinsville Track History – As you read above, Kyle Busch has consistently performed at a very-high level at Martinsville. Earlier this year he had a great performance. He finished 2nd, earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 3rd place average running position, finished 4th in Stage #1 and 3rd in Stage #2. Last fall he had a great performance and raced his way to victory lane after all the late mayhem ensued. In the race he earned the best driver rating, led the most laps (184), had a 3rd place average running position and finished 2nd in both Stage #1 and #2. In spring 2017 he had a great car. He earned the best driver rating, finished 2nd, had a 3rd place average running position and led 274 laps. Additionally, he finished 3rd in Stage #1 and would’ve won Stage #2 if Ricky Stenhouse Jr. didn’t nudge him at the end. In the three Martinsville races prior to that he had results of 1st, 5th and 5th.

In Happy Hour, Bowyer said he had a strong car and his average speed ranked as the best. In both Practice #1 and Happy Hour his ten lap average ranked as the 3rd best. On Sunday I would look for Bowyer to compete for a top five.
