This session he really wanted to focus on being good in turns 1 and 2. 25 minutes into practice while he was 25th he said his car was feeling better. Late in practice he said, “Grip out of it through the center. Tires chatter too much with this latest package.”

Kevin Harvick – Showed impressive speed over his opening 11 lap run which put him at the top of the speed chart. Had the best ten lap average. At the conclusion of his first run he had a very slow lap which killed his average speed.
Ty Dillon – Following his opening run he said he was “Free in and the front tires are chattering tight in the middle of one and two.” Following his second run which put him 19th he said, “That was a positive adjustment. I need more rear grip.” Late in practice he said, “Rear grip is fixed now. Good job getting that where I need it. Now we need to focus on the chatter in the middle.”
Chase Elliott – He’s been working to get the front end of his car to turn better. His team feels like they’ll race well. 45 minutes into practice he reported his car was better at the beginning of a run and adjustments were in the right direction. Looking for a little more speed.
