Phoenix (ISM Raceway) NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Martin Truex Jr. – Didn’t get out on the track until late in practice (inspection took a long time) and his first run put him 22nd. Didn’t like his car following his opening run. His second run jumped him up to 19th.

Joey Logano – In practice he said he was focused on Homestead. Was in qualifying trim the entire session.

Ty Dillon – Started in race trim and did a 8 lap run in that setup to start the session. Following his run he said, “I’m getting tight through the middle of the corner. Drive started off free but was getting better as I ran.”

Chris Buescher – Started in race trim and did a 7 lap run in that setup to start the session.

William Byron – Was parked for 30 minutes this session because he failed inspection 3 times last week. Focused on qualifying trim exclusively. Said his car is pretty loose off.
