Daytona Clash NASCAR Practice Notes

Denny Hamlin – Started out with a single car run. Later he practiced in the draft. 40 minutes into practice he crashed. He’ll be driving a backup car in the Clash. Said his car needed a little more drivability (be more secure).

Chase Elliott – His car looked strong in the draft. 40 minutes into practice he wrecked. Said his car drove similar to how it has in other recent plate races. In the Clash he’ll be driving a backup car.

Ryan Newman – Only ran 1 lap in the first 25 minutes of practice. His practice speeds likely indicate he ran by himself. Was involved in a wreck 40 minutes into practice. His team is going to repair his car.

Kevin Harvick – His car looked very racy leading the pack. Spun and got some damage 40 minutes into practice. His team is going to repair his car. Said his car was running fine prior to wrecking.

Joey Logano – At the start of practice he led a group draft that had eight different cars. Until he decided to fall back nobody got around him. When he dropped to the back he was able to race his way up towards the front again.
