Fantasy NASCAR Gander RV Duel Race Thoughts ….
The Gander RV Duel Races can be tough to navigate. Probably 90% percent of the field is guilty of not trying 100% percent because their primary goal is to avoid trouble and get through this race unscathed. Some drivers might not even have backup cars, so I wouldn’t look for them to race with effort. Others might even completely tank their performance because they might want to start the Daytona 500 in the back. There’s some points on the line, but I don’t think its enough to tempt a smart driver to take risks to get them.

Duel #1 Thoughts
- I think Duel #1 will come down to Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. If I had to pick a driver I would go with Brad Keselowski to win. He’ll have a great car and starting right behind him is his teammate, Paul Menard. Menard is a great wing man to have. I also think Keselowski will race with 100% effort which is huge in a race like this.
- I don’t expect anything from William Byron. I think he would be smart to take his car to the garage as soon as the green flag waves. He has no incentive because the only way he’s not starting on the pole is if he has to go to a backup car or has problems.
- Some DFS drivers to target are Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Matt DiBenedetto, Bubba Wallace, and Chris Buescher.
Duel #2 Thoughts
- Duel #2 represents the winners of the last four Duel races. The winners in 2018 were Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney. The winners in 2017 were Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin. In this Duel I think it will come down to Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin. All of them are capable of winning, but I think Joey Logano should be considered the favorite.
- Just like William Byron in Duel #1, I think Alex Bowman might elect to not race hard. I think he’ll try to stay up front but if things get wild I think he’ll go out of his way to avoid trouble.
- Some DFS drivers to target are Ryan Blaney, Kurt Busch, Kyle Larson, Ty Dillon and Jamie McMurray.
