Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Las Vegas
Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick had a great car last fall at Las Vegas and was a top five contender but finished an Asterisk Mark 39th. On lap 148 while he was running around 6th he had a flat tire and crashed hard which marked the end of his race. In the race he finished 2nd in Stage #1 and led 14 laps.
Erik Jones – Last fall at Las Vegas, Erik Jones started first but finished last. Jones was a top ten contender but his race wasn’t incident free. On lap 148 when Kevin Harvick careened into the wall he plowed into the back of the #4. In Stage #1 he finished 8th and just prior to his wreck he was running in 10th. If his race would’ve been incident free I think he had a great chance to finish in the top ten.
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott has crashed in 3 of his 4 Las Vegas races. Last fall his race ended early when he wrecked on lap 212 which led to his 36th place finish. At the time of his accident he was running in 6th. If his race would’ve been incident free I think he was a top five contender.
Kurt Busch – Las Vegas has been a trouble spot on the schedule for Kurt Busch. In 6 of the last 7 races he’s finished 20th or worse. Last fall, Busch looked like a top five contender but finished 21st. In the race he finished 4th in Stage #1, 2nd in Stage #2 and was in 8th with 25 laps to go before all the late mayhem ensued. He had some sort of issue late which dropped him off pace and then with two laps to go he wrecked.
