Auto Club NASCAR Practice #2 Notes
Kyle Larson – Said his car simply won’t turn. Not happy. He also missed a shift but everything should be fine. Late in practice he got slightly into the wall while running the high-line trying to pass Hamlin. The amount of damage was very minimal.
Kyle Busch – Started with a 14 lap run and had good speed. Had the best 15 lap average.
Jimmie Johnson – 20 minutes into practice while he was 18th he said his biggest issue at the time was the splitter making contact with the track. 30 minutes into practice he said turns 1&2 are good and the wind was affecting his car. He wants a little more grip off the corners.
Brad Keselowski – Had a fast car that looked strong. Had good speed near the tail end of his opening long run. Had the best 5 and 10 lap averages.
Alex Bowman – Early in practice he radioed his crew chief and said, “Much better than yesterday.” Later during his first run (28th) he said, “I have a much freeer balance in one and two than I have in three and four.”
