Martinsville NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
William Byron – At the start of Happy Hour he was out on the track logging laps. In Practice #1 he only completed 2 laps. Ten minutes into practice he said, “The front end bounces like crazy on the transition.” 20 minutes into practice while he was 20th he said, “Still a little bit tight but that changed helped.” Later he wasn’t that happy with his car. Said the front end is bouncing bad and he can’t get on the brakes like he needs to in traffic.
Martin Truex Jr. – Had the best 10,15,20 and 30 lap averages 35 minutes into practice. They’ve made very minimal adjustments today.
Clint Bowyer – His car was really good in the center of the turns. His team was very happy with long run lap times this session.
Kurt Busch – Wasn’t happy with his car.
Jimmie Johnson – He’s been trying to get his car to roll better in the corners. Ten minutes into practice while he was 3rd he reported his car was tight. 30 minutes into practice he reported he needs more grip. Late in practice he reported his car lacks drive off.
