Bristol Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Chris Buescher – Chris Buescher is one of the better low-tier drivers at Bristol. His track record doesn’t show it, but he’s capable of performing well. Last summer at Bristol he was pretty good but finished a misleading 19th. With 96 laps to go he was in 10th, with 24 laps to go he was in 4th, but then he had an incident with 20 laps to go. The three Bristol races prior to that were rough for him. Last spring on lap 117 he was collected in a wreck that ended his afternoon and led to his 36th place finish. He never really ran well prior to wrecking and he maybe looked about low-twenties good. In summer 2017 he didn’t have a good race. He finished 27th and had a 25th place average running position. In spring 2017 he started in the rear of the field but had no problems moving up thru the pack. Unfortunately his race wasn’t incident free and he completed 53 laps before being involved in a wreck. From what I seen he looked good and I thought he had teens potential. In summer 2016 the attrition rate was sky high and he finished 5th. At Bristol, I’m going to play it safe and view him as a high-teens to low-twenties driver.

William Byron – William Byron has two starts on his resume at Bristol and neither are great. He has an 8.0 average starting position but a 20.5 average finish. Last summer he didn’t have a good race. He started 5th and finished four laps down in 23rd. His average running position was 22nd. Last spring when he made his Bristol debut he really didn’t do anything special. He started 11th, had a 15th place average running position and finished 18th. At Bristol I’m going to play it safe and view him as a high-teens driver.
Matt DiBenedetto – Matt DiBenedetto is the top “low-tier” option at Bristol. He finished 6th in spring 2016, in the five races since he has a 17.8 average finish which is great when you factor in his former equipment. In 4 of those 5 races he had a result between 17th to 22nd. Last year his results were 22nd and 21st. On Sunday I’m going to play it safe and view him as a high-teens to low-twenties driver.
