Bristol NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

NOTE: This practice session was all about drivers getting their cars ready for qualifying later on Friday.

Joey Logano – 25 minutes into practice he climbed to the top of the speed chart. Late in practice while he was in 2nd his spotter said of him, “He’s nailing it through 1 and 2.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – About 20 minutes into practice, right after Kyle Larson jumped to the top, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took the top spot. 35 minutes into practice while he was 9th he said, “Too loose entry.” Late in practice while he was 12th he said, “The entry is still loose…3 and 4 is the best it has been. It’s not bad. Has the potential to be better.”

Ryan Blaney – 30 minutes into practice he jumped to the top of the speed chart. Ended the session at the top of the speed chart.

Denny Hamlin – Jimmie Johnson’s spotter said this to him about Hamlin, “The 11 is hugging the black–both ends.”

David Ragan – Ended the session 19th. Following practice he said, “I think we’re in the ballpark. I finally felt like I could hustle it, get off of the brakes and start feeding the throttle a little earlier.”
