Bristol Post Practice Fantasy NASCAR Predictions
We’re at the short track of Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend and it’s honestly shaping up to be a pretty interesting race. We have the youngest group of top 4 qualifiers in NASCAR history this week, and then there’s the whole weather aspect that we might have to deal with; heading into Sunday, there’s a 50% chance of rain on race day and then a 90% chance of rain on Monday.
We have another all Hendrick front row this weekend, as Chase Elliott is on the pole for Sunday’s Food City 500 while teammate William Byron will start alongside him. The full starting lineup for this year’s first Bristol race can be found by clicking here. You can find the practice speeds for Saturday’s practice sessions here: Practice #2 — Happy Hour. You should also read our in-depth notes for those here: Practice #2 — Happy Hour.

Final Top 25 Fantasy NASCAR Rankings for Bristol
1. Ryan Blaney – Starts 3rd – DraftKings Price: $10,300 – FanDuel Price: $11,400 – Slingshot Price: $10,500
Ryan Blaney having a strong car at Bristol this weekend should surprise nobody. The #12 Ford was probably the best car in this race last season until Blaney wrecked–he led 100 of the 117 laps he completed after starting 5th–and then he led 121 laps in the fall race before posting a career-best finish of 7th. Additionally, Blaney had an extremely strong car at Martinsville a couple of weeks ago, which is the only other short track we’ve raced at in 2019 thus far. As far as this weekend goes, Blaney probably should have been on the pole but he messed up in the final round of qualifying. Still, the #12 Ford will roll off the grid from 3rd, and the car looks to be very wrong in race trim as well; YRB was 3rd-best in ten-lap average in Practice #2 on Saturday before ending up 6th on that chart in Happy Hour. This season, Blaney is a bit hit or miss, but he has three top 5 finishes in the last four races overall, and should be able to add a fourth here at Bristol on Sunday.
2. Kyle Busch – Starts 17th – DraftKings Price: $12,900 – FanDuel Price: $15,000 – Slingshot Price: $13,500
Kyle Busch is coming off of his worst performance of the season at Texas, so this is a great weekend to stay away from him in Fantasy NASCAR… just kidding. While Rowdy did post his worst finish of the year last week, it was only 10th, and he still led the most laps in that event. With that being said, I’m not against trying to find alternate drivers for Sunday’s Food City 500 instead of Kyle Busch. Yes, he won this race last year, and yes he won the fall race of 2017, but Kyle still has six finishes of 20th or worse in the last nine Bristol races. Many of those were mechanical issues, but that kind of trend doesn’t happen coincidentally. With that being said, Kyle Busch should be a top 5 threat on Sunday if nothing crazy happens, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him grab his 8th Cup Series win here in Thunder Valley either. The #18 Toyota was 16th-best in ten-lap average during Practice #2 and best in Happy Hour. His teammate, Erik Jones, has a ton of speed, too, and that should translate to another solid Kyle Busch day on Sunday, too.
