Charlotte NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

NOTE: This practice session was all about drivers getting their cars ready for qualifying tonight.

Daniel Hemric – His opening run put him 9th. Following his run he said he was on the splittler just a bit. A late run in qualifying trim jumped him to the top of the speed chart. He ended the session 1st.

Chase Elliott – 30 minutes into practice he was at the top of the speed chart. He ended the session 2nd.

Kevin Harvick – Didn’t seem to like his car in qualifying trim. He aborted his first couple of runs. He didn’t make his first run at speed until there was about 10 minutes to go. He ended the session 27th.

Alex Bowman – His opening run put him 2nd on the speed chart. Following his run he said, “Not bad right there.” Late in practice while he was 9th he said, “Same thing that happened in three and four last time happened again.”

Ty Dillon – His early run 10 minutes into practice put him 24th of 26 cars. Following his run he said, “Really loose. The back just felt like it had no grip.” Following his 2nd run while he was 28th he said, “That was much better. I did have to lift in 3 and 4 though because I still need a little more rear grip.”
