Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Pocono
Aric Almirola – Aric Almirola was a top ten contender last summer at Pocono, but he finished an asterisk mark 25th. In the race he started near he back but had no trouble moving up through the field. On lap 46 which was shortly before the ending of Stage #1 he was in 13th. Unfortunately, his race wasn’t incident free. While he was running around 9th with about 40 laps to go he had contact with Kevin Harvick on pit road which did some damage and led to second pit stop. Then right at the end with 2 laps to go he spun.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano ran well last summer at Pocono, but he finished an asterisk mark 26th. In the race he started in the rear of the field and also had a flat tire with 22 laps to go while he was running around 12th. When you consider how the race played out if his afternoon would’ve been incident free he likely would’ve come home with a top ten.
Brad Keselowski – Last summer heading into Pocono, Brad Keselowski had 6 straight top five finishes at the “Tricky Triangle.” That streak came to a halt last July when he wrecked with 40 laps to go. “Performance Wise” I thought he was clearly a top ten contender. In both Stage #1 and Stage #2 he finished 7th.
