Pocono Post Practice Fantasy NASCAR Predictions
We’re at Pocono Raceway this weekend, and things could get a little wild on the Fantasy NASCAR front. Not only is Pocono notorious for being a track where strategy can play a huge part in the finish, but now we’re throwing in this new rules package that allows drivers to go full throttle through turn 2. One small mistake by a driver will cause them to lose a ton of momentum on Sunday, and drafting is probably going to play a huge part, too. Either way, it’s going to be a fun race I think.
For the record: Indianapolis is the most comparable track on the schedule to Pocono, so if you see that referenced, that’s why.
Once again, William Byron was a speed machine in qualifying this weekend, and he’ll lead the field to the green on Sunday. Kye Busch starts 2nd and the full starting lineup for the 2019 Pocono 400 can be found by clicking here. You can find the practice speeds for Friday’s practice sessions here: Practice #1 — Practice #2. You should also read our in-depth notes for those sessions: Practice #1 — Practice #2.

Final Top 25 Fantasy NASCAR Rankings for Pocono
1. Kyle Busch – Starts 2nd – DraftKings Price: $11,400 – FanDuel Price: $15,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,800
It should come as a surprise to nobody, but Kyle Busch has been one of the best here at Pocono lately. He’s won the last two July races at “The Tricky Triangle” while also posting finishes of 3rd and 9th in the last two June races. Busch has also led 239 laps over that four-race span, which is really impressive when you consider that there have only been 644 laps ran at Pocono in the last two years. As far as track record at Indianapolis, Rowdy has had similar results, with two wins in the last four races while leading 282 laps. This weekend, the #18 Toyota was inside the top 5 in both practice sessions, and Kyle had the best ten-lap average in Happy Hour as well (by quite a margin).
2. Brad Keselowski – Starts 5th – DraftKings Price: $10,200 – FanDuel Price: $13,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,300
Brad Keselowski finished 38th here at Pocono last July, and that’s noteworthy because it ended his six-race streak of top 5 finishes at “The Tricky Triangle.” However, there’s a pretty good chance that the #2 team will get back on that top 5 horse this weekend, especially with how fast their race car is lately. Unfortunately, Keselowski isn’t rewarding Fantasy NASCAR owners with great finishes lately, but the speed is definitely there. Plus, strategy comes into play quite often here at Pocono, and there isn’t a better duo at that than Kez and Paul Wolfe. Brad was inside the top 5 in both practice sessions here on Friday and had the 2nd-best ten-lap average in Happy Hour. Also, as mentioned before, Indianapolis is the most comparable track to Pocono, and Kez has finished 1st and 2nd in the last two races at Indy.
3. Kevin Harvick – Starts 11th – DraftKings Price: $10,500 – FanDuel Price: $14,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,400
Kevin Harvick is one of the safest Fantasy NASCAR plays at Pocono this weekend. He’s currently on a five-race streak of top 5 finishes at this track and has also posted single-digit results in eight of his last nine starts here. Additionally, Harvick has been a machine at Indianapolis, too, with four straight finishes of 6th or better over there. This weekend, the #4 Ford has been getting progressively better, and in Happy Hour, Harvick was 7th-fastest and also had the 5th-best ten-lap average. I’m expecting another good finish out of Harvick and this #4 crew on Sunday, although I don’t think they’ll get that first win of the season just yet.
