Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson finished 28th last summer at Michigan, but that’s a misleading result. With 6 laps to go while he was running in 13th he made an unexpected pit stop. If his race would’ve been incident free than a low-double digits finish was a lock.

Ty Dillon – In 4 of the last 5 Michigan races Ty Dillon has finished between 20th to 24th. Last summer he likely would’ve finished within that range again, but his race wasn’t incident free. On lap 133 while he was running around 23rd he hit a big piece of debris and then slammed into the wall which led to his 38th place finish.

William Byron – Last summer at Michigan, Byron had a tough race and finished 36th. On lap 16 while he was running just outside the top ten he spun after contact with Truex Jr. and damaged his car. Last spring in his debut he ran well and finished 13th.
