Michigan NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Kyle Busch – Jumped to the top of the speed chart to start the session after doing a 19 lap run. His car looked pretty sporty. He ended the session 2nd.
Kevin Harvick – 20 minutes into practice he jumped to the top of the speed chart. He ended the session at the top of the speed chart. His car was said to have great speed down the straightaway. Jeff Gordon was impressed with his car.
Jimmie Johnson – Early in Happy Hour he reported he had no handling issues. 15 minutes into practice while he was talking to his crew chief he said, “It’s driving really good Kevin.” He ended the session 8th.
Chris Buescher – 30 minutes into practice while he was 24th he reported he’s free in traffic in turns 3 and 4, and his car is more manageable in turns 1 and 2.
Alex Bowman – Early in practice he said, “Just too loose right now. It took off ok, it just built looser and looser.” 25 minutes into practice while he was 12th he said, “On the free side, but not terrible. Passing is going to be really, really tough.” He ended the session 10th.
Aric Almirola – Had the best 15 and 20 lap averages. His car looked pretty good.
