New Hampshire NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Denny Hamlin – Got into the wall hard late in practice. He’ll be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field. He’ll be scored from where he qualifies. Hamlin said he got loose.
Joey Logano – He started the session in race trim. His opening run was 7 laps. He wanted to check his travels to start the session. He was the only notable top-tier driver who spent time in race trim.
Ryan Newman – Late in practice he got into the wall and got a notable amount of damage. He’ll be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field. He’ll be scored from his qualifying position.
Matt Tifft – He started the session in race trim. His opening run was 10 laps. Following his run he said, “It doesn’t feel bad, just a little snug.” 20 minutes into practice while he was 31st he said, “Freer than I’d like.”
Alex Bowman – He began the session in qualifying trim. 40 minutes into practice while he was 5th he said, “I feel like I was able to comfortably roll speed there.”
