Pocono NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Kyle Larson – Ten minutes into practice he crashed exiting the tunnel turn. He’ll start in the rear of the field and will be scored from his qualifying position.

Chase Elliott – Thirty minutes into practice he got into the wall hard. He’ll start in the rear of the field and will be scored from his qualifying position.

William Byron – 20 minutes into practice while he was 4th he told his crew chief he hasn’t even been wide open yet, he just was getting a feel for the track conditions. 35 minutes into practice he jumped up to 2nd on the speed chart. At that time he said he thinks they are close on the balance. 40 minutes into practice he was at the top of the speed chart.

Kyle Busch – Dale Earnhardt Jr. said his car looked fast and comfortable. It was mentioned that he was driving a different line than other drivers in turn 3. Has a strong car this weekend.

Alex Bowman – In the opening minutes of practice he said, “Really, really loose.” During a later run 25 minutes into practice while he was 12th he said, “Still free, but definitely an improvement.”
