Watkins Glen NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

Kyle Busch – His car showed great speed this session. Midway through practice he was 2nd on the speed chart (Matt DiBenedetto did a qualifying run). Busch had the best 5 and 10 lap averages.

Chase Elliott – His team was said to feel confident with their car in practice #1. His 5 lap average this session ranked as the 2nd best. Right at the end of the session he jumped to the top of the speed chart.

Matt DiBenedetto – He started the session with a qualifying run and he jumped to the top of the speed chart. Following his qualifying team he said, “I screwed up the bus stop really bad.” Midway through practice he completed a 12 lap run in race trim.

Daniel Hemric – 15 minutes into practice while he was 15th after running 6 laps he said he needs help getting off turn 1 and into the esses.

Corey LaJoie – 10 minutes into practice while he was 30th he said, “A little too free on throttle both directions.”
