Bristol 2 Post Practice Fantasy NASCAR Predictions
We all know how wild races at Bristol Motor Speedway can be on the track, and the same thing can be said within the Fantasy NASCAR world. So why not throw in another twist? NASCAR went with the condensed schedule this weekend, which means starting positions aren’t final until inspection is completed on Saturday. The catch? Typically, inspection doesn’t start until the garage opens, and the garage doesn’t open until 1:30 pm on Saturday at Bristol. We could be looking at 6 pm before we get the official starting positions.
Tentatively, Denny Hamlin is on the pole for Saturday night’s Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race. You can view the entire starting lineup by clicking here. There were two practice sessions held on Friday, and the speeds from those can be found here: Practice #1 — Happy Hour. You should also read our in-depth notes for those sessions: Practice #1 — Happy Hour.

Final Top 25 Fantasy NASCAR Rankings for Bristol 2
1. Joey Logano – Starts 11th – DraftKings Price: $10,200 – FanDuel Price: $13,500 – Slingshot Price: $11,800
Looking purely at finishes, Joey Logano is in a bit of a slump. Over the last three races, the #22 Ford hasn’t finished better than 13th, and Logano hasn’t walked away from a race with a top 5 finish since Chicagoland back in June. Of course, there’s more to the story there, as Joey could’ve easily had a great finish at Michigan last week if he just a little more gas. Anyway, momentum doesn’t really matter a lot at Bristol, and I’m fully expecting Logano to have a great race here on Saturday night. He’s a two-time August winner here at “The Bullring” (in 2014 and 2015), and in the last eight total races here, he’s finished inside the top 10 in seven of them. The only exception? A 13th-place finish in the 2017 night race. Additionally, Logano has led 241 total laps over the last two Bristol races and has top 5 finishes in each as well. He’s also won the last two Stage 2s here. The #22 ranked first in ten-lap average during first practice here on Friday and then 5th-best on that chart in Happy Hour.
2. Denny Hamlin – Starts 1st – DraftKings Price: $10,700 – FanDuel Price: $13,000 – Slingshot Price: $11,700
We saw Erik Jones’ hot streak come to an end at Michigan last week. Is this the week that Denny Hamlin’s concludes? Probably not, but it’s possible (we’ll get to that in a minute). Denny is a previous Bristol winner (August 2012) and has finished 3rd in three of the last four August races here. He also ended up 5th when we were last here in April after leading 7 laps. So between the power of Joe Gibbs Racing and with how Denny Hamlin is running right now–remember, he’s one of the most mentally weak drivers in the garage, so a confidence boost really helps him–I’m expecting another solid run out of this #11 Toyota on Saturday night. With that being said, I do have some concern: pit road mistakes. We all know that Hamlin can push the envelope on pit road during the race, and those kind of penalties are almost impossible to come back from in Thunder Valley. Looking at it solely from a speed perspective, though, Hamlin should be good; the #11 Toyota was 6th-best in ten-lap average during Happy Hour on Friday.
3. Kevin Harvick – Starts 8th – DraftKings Price: $12,200 – FanDuel Price: $14,000 – Slingshot Price: $12,800
After not being able to close out the deal for the first five months of the season, suddenly Kevin Harvick has two wins in the last four Cup Series races overall and no finish worse than 7th over that span. Now we’re at Bristol Motor Speedway, a track where “Happy” has won twice and has led a total of 884 laps throughout his career–a number good enough for 5th-best among active drivers. The last two races here at Bristol have just been decent for Harvick (13th and 10th), but before that he has a six-race streak of finishes between 1st and 8th, and that’s the exact range I see the #4 Ford ending up here on Saturday night as well. Harvick ranked 7th-best in ten-lap average during Friday’s first final practice session. The #4 Ford has been very strong on the shorter tracks all season long and there’s no reason to think that changes here at Bristol on Saturday night.
