Bristol NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Ryan Blaney – Has a very fast car that turns well. Late in practice he had the best 5,10 and 15 lap averages. With 7 minutes remaining he had a serious power steering problem and smoke was coming from his car. He said his car was really good.
Matt Tifft – He didn’t practice this session because of vertigo (a sensation of spinning dizziness). Chase Briscoe drove his car. Late in practice Briscoe said, “Way too tight off center.”
Erik Jones – His car was said to be really quick on old tires. 25 minutes into practice he had the 2nd best 10 lap average.
Joey Logano – He practiced running the high-line early even though it was artificially slow. 15 minutes into practice he had the best 5 lap average. This weekend he appears to have a great car. Logano ran +100 laps this session.
Jimmie Johnson – 15 minutes into practice while he was 19th following a 20 lap run he said his stability was good, but he is still a bit tight. 25 minutes into practice while he was 20th he said he’s good in turns 1 and 2 and his team is working on turn 3. During a late run he reported that his car was tougher to drive.
