Las Vegas NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
William Byron – His opening 9 lap run put him at the top of the speed chart. 15 minutes into practice he said his car feels a bit rigid over the bumps in turns 1 and 2, but overall he’s pretty happy. Said his car felt good. Said he needs to work on drivability in a few areas.
Austin Dillon – 10 minutes into practice while he was 2nd he was happy with his car. “Let’s go! That’s how you unload!”
Chase Elliott – Said his balance is pretty good following his opening run which put him 3rd.
Joey Logano – His team really focused on being good in race trim this session. Midway through practice he was 8th on the speed chart.
Ryan Newman – He started with a 5 lap run that put him 15th and following it he said he’s tight so far. Following a run 25 minutes into practice he said his car was pretty good that run. Supposedly, Newman hit debris from Martin Truex Jr.’s car. It was mentioned 40 minutes into practice his team made some repairs to his right rear.
