Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Richmond
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch had a great car this spring at Richmond, but he finished an asterisk mark 8th. In the race he won Stage #1, led 101 laps but around lap 130 during a caution he was caught speeding on pit road while leading and that penalty dropped him back to 24th. He was just never able to fully bounce back. If his race would’ve been incident free I think he was a contender to win. Last year at Richmond, Busch won both races.
Erik Jones – Erik Jones was a top ten contender this spring at Richmond but he finished an asterisk mark 14th. In the race he started in the rear of the field but had no trouble advancing in the running order. At lap 130 he was up to 8th. In Stage #2 he finished 8th. Then in the final Stage around lap 245 while he was running in the top ten he had a long pit stop to add a wheel spacer and that problem dropped him back into the 20’s and he just never fully recovered.
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson had a tough race this spring at Richmond and he finished a misleading 37th. Early in Stage #2 while he was running in 17th he had a flat tire and wrecked. It just wasn’t that great of a race for him. It should be noted earlier in the year at that point in time he was in a slump and couldn’t do anything right.
