Martin Truex Jr., Alex Bowman, Ryan Preece, Matt Tifft, Ross Chastain and Reed Sorenson all started in the rear of the field after inspection failures.
- Matt Tifft failed inspection three-times so he had to serve a pass thru penalty when the race started.

NOTE: Unfortunately in the race replay the running order and lap count weren’t shown so sorry in advance for that info not being provided.
Matt Tifft had to serve a pass through penalty at the started of the race. This dropped him 2 laps down right at the start.
Chase Elliott who won the pole selected to start in the high-line. He led the opening 107 laps.
William Byron who started in 2nd in the low-line fell back to 4th quickly.
Ryan Preece was really be struggling early. He started in the rear of the field. Leading up to the race his team made a ton of changes to his car.
Alex Bowman’s car looked really good. He was up 11 position early.
Martin Truex Jr. had a great car. He started in the rear of the field but was quickly moving up through the running order.
Top 7 around lap 30: 9,22,42,4,24,10,2
At the time of the lap 40 competition caution, only 25 drivers were on the lead lap.

Notable Moment: During the Stage caution, Matt DiBenedetto was penalized when his crew members went over the wall too soon.
Around lap 50 it was said that Chase Elliott’s car was in a league of its own at the time.
Denny Hamlin was struggling around lap 50. He wasn’t good getting into the corners or getting off of them. At that time he was running around the mid-teens.
Kyle Larson had a good car. Around lap 60 he was running in 2nd. Leading up to the race he was one of three drivers who tested here. He was starting to close in on Chase Elliott when the #9 car was in traffic.
Kevin Harvick had a great car. Around lap 80 Jeff Gordon said he thought it was one of the best cars. He was running in the top five at the time.
Around lap 75, Denny Hamlin was back to 23rd and he was a lap down.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. said his car was plowing around lap 100.
Big Moment: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had a tire go down and got into the wall on lap 105. His car had quite a bit of right side damage.
Denny Hamlin got the free pass during the Stenhouse Jr. caution.
Running order at lap 107 coming to pit road: 9,42,22,4,2,14,19,24,88,12 … 18
During the Stenhouse Jr. caution, Joey Logano and William Byron took two tires. Everybody else took 4. This got them up to 1st and 2nd.

During the Stage caution, Joey Logano and William Byron came to pit road. All the other lead lap cars stayed out.
After Joey Logano pitted, Brad Keselowski inherited the lead and he then led the next 58 laps.
Denny Hamlin was still frustrated with his car in Stage #2.
Alex Bowman had a great car. He was up in the top five around lap 160. His car was really good running the high-line.
Chase Elliott really liked his car. He was pleased with how it was rolling in the corners. He was in 2nd around lap 180.
Following green flag pit stops in Stage #2, Chase Elliott cycled to the lead and he then led the next 34 laps.
Around lap 215, Kurt Busch said he didn’t have the best car and he had to wait for others to make mistakes to move up. At that time he got lapped.
Alex Bowman got the lead on lap 224, he then led the next 16 laps.
Martin Truex Jr. passed Alex Bowman for the Stage #2 win on the final lap.
Stage #2 Top Ten Finishers (Lap 240): 19,88,4,9,2,42,12,18,14,20
Early in the final Stage, Kyle Busch got into the wall. I would describe it was slight contact because he was able to stay out on the track. I will note though he told his team that his car was “done.”
