Dover NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Jimmie Johnson – His car appeared to be pretty good. 20 minutes into practice he was 4th after running 21 laps. At that time his crew chief said, “Really good lap times, Jimmie.” Johnson had the 2nd best 10 lap average late in practice. Late in the session he spent time focusing on qualifying.
Kevin Harvick – He started with a 23 lap run to start the session which put him 2nd on the speed chart early. He appeared to have good long run speed. Harvick had the best ten lap average late in practice.
Kyle Larson – 20 minutes into practice while he was 2nd he said he was way too loose. Larson said the front of his car was turning too well. Larson had the best 5 lap average late in practice.
Alex Bowman – 25 minutes into practice while he was 5th he said, “I feel like that was better security.” He also said that in “Turns 3 and 4 he is good, but Turns 1 and 2 he is loose.”
William Byron – Ten minutes into practice while he was 4th he said, “Pretty good but just a bit loose.” 45 minutes into practice while he was 6th he said, “That was in the right direction.”
