The Fantasy NASCAR Low Tier – Kansas
Matt Tifft – At Kansas, I would look for Matt Tifft to likely finish around the mid-twenties. Over the last six combined races at 1.5 mile tracks he has a 25.2 average finish and a 26.5 average running position. Earlier this year at Kansas in his track debut, Tifft had one of his better races at 1.5 mile tracks this year. When the checkered flag waved he finished 21st, had a 24th place average running position and earned the 25th best driver rating.
Corey LaJoie – At Kansas, look for Corey LaJoie to be a mid-twenties to about thirtieth place driver. That’s essentially his 2019 weekly level of performance and at the last two 1.5 mile tracks visited he’s finished 28th both races. Earlier this year at Kansas, LaJoie finished 22nd and had a 26th place average running position. Last fall, LaJoie had his worst Kansas performance and finished 34th. In the three races prior to that he had results of 24th, 27th and 27th.
Ross Chastain – At Kansas, look for Ross Chastian to be a high-twenties to low-thirties driver. This year at 1.5 mile tracks minus Charlotte where he had suspension problems he has a 30.3 average finish, a 30.9 average running position and he’s finished between 26th to 33rd every race. In 4 of his 5 incident free races at tracks of this length he’s finished between 29th to 31st. This spring at Kansas, Chastain didn’t run well and when the checkered flag waved he finished 31st and had a 31st place average running position. Last year, Chastain crashed early in the fall (39th) and finished 26th in the spring (finished 8 laps down).
Landon Cassill – Landon Cassill doesn’t have much upside at Kansas. 1.5 mile tracks have been a weakness of his in 2019 and a result in the high-twenties has been a good day for him. At the last two 1.5 mile tracks visited he’s had results of 29th (Las Vegas) and 32nd (Kentucky). Keep in mind, those are his good results. Earlier this year at Kansas, Cassill finished 37th and had a 36th place average running position. It was just a horrible race and he never cracked the top 30. In the five Kansas races prior to that he finished in the 20’s. In 2018 he had results of 29th and 25th.
