Joey Logano who won the pole selected to start in the low-line. He led the opening 5 laps.
On lap 6, Brad Keselowski took the lead from Logano. He then led the next 319 laps.
On lap 6, Logano got stuck in the outside groove and he fell back a handful of positions.
Daniel Suarez was said to be optimistic with how his car was performing early.
William Byron was up to 26th about 30 laps into the race. He started in 35th.
Early in the race, Martin Truex Jr.’s car was chattering the rear tires. He was in 11th at around approximately lap 40.
Around approximately lap 50, William Byron went a lap down.
Top 5 around lap 60: 2,11,9,10,14
Notable Moment: On lap 65, Michael McDowell got into the wall hard and brought out the first caution. At the time of his trouble, McDowell was in 28th, one lap down.

Chase Elliott’s car was strong and he closed in on Brad Keselowski near the end of the Stage.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. got the free pass at the end of Stage #1. Only 25 cars were on the lead lap at the beginning of Stage #2.
Running order on lap 146 when a debris caution came out: 2,9,11,12,10,19,18,22,4
Austin Dillon had a competitive car. Around lap 150 he was running just outside the top ten. It was said he was good at passing drivers using the higher-groove.
Blaney’s car was said to be one of the best at hugging the curve and then getting a great launch off the corner. His car was really good at diamonding the corner.
Jimmie Johnson’s car wasn’t the best over a long run. He complained about it “Just not being able to turn” around approximately lap 180. At that time he was running just outside the top 20.
Top seven at approximately lap 200: 2,9,12,11,10,4,19
Daniel Suarez was said to have a good long run car. He was running around the mid-teens at round lap 200.
Ryan Blaney’s car was really looking good. At around lap 245 he passed Chase Elliott for 2nd.

Notable Moment: During the Stage #2 caution, Denny Hamlin’s team had an uncontrolled tire. Hamlin finished 3rd in Stage #2, it dropped him back to about 20th. Ryan Newman had an uncontrolled tire. He was running back in the 20’s and it really didn’t impact him too much. Ty Dillon was caught speeding during this caution. This dropped him from the teens to about 20th.
