Phoenix (ISM Raceway) NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

Denny Hamlin – His car looked really good this session. Steve Letarte thought he had the best car. Hamlin seemed confident with his car. He scuffed some tires for qualifying tomorrow. His car looked really good over a long run on the chart shown in the NBCSN broadcast. He said his car got better this practice session. His team had him practice on pit road multiple times. His ten lap average ranked as the best.

Martin Truex Jr. – He started with a mock qualifying run which put him 4th. The #19 team is said to be relaxed this weekend. They have a skeleton crew with a lot of guys back in North Carolina focused on the race next week. Later following a race run he said, “Screwed up the entry but otherwise it’s okay” His ten lap average ranked as the 9th best.

Kevin Harvick – He started the session with a mock qualifying run which put him 3rd. His car had good speed over a long run. Late in practice his 15 lap average ranked as the 5th best.

Kyle Busch – His car looked really strong this session and he started with a +15 lap run.

Ryan Blaney – He started the session with a mock qualifying run which put him 2nd. Later he did a long +35 lap run. He thought his car has been pretty decent all day. He thought he was solid over a long run. His ten lap average ranked as the 3rd best.
