Las Vegas Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions and The Low Tier
Ty Dillon – At Las Vegas, I think Ty Dillon will likely be a high-teens to low-twenties driver. In the 2019 Playoffs at tracks of this length over the four combined races he had a 20.0 average finish. Last fall at Las Vegas, Dillon had his best performance at “Sin City.” When the checkered flag waved he finished 16th and had a 20th place average running position. In spring 2019 he had a forgettable performance. He finished 29th, had a 27th place average running position and finished 3 laps down. In fall 2018 he had a tough race and finished 34th. I’ll note he didn’t run well and his race wasn’t incident free. On lap 111 while he was running in 29th he had a flat tire and careened into the wall. In spring 2018 he finished 24th and had a 27th place average running position.

John Hunter Nemechek – At Las Vegas, I would look for John Hunter Nemechek to be a low to mid-twenties driver. To play it safe, I would lean more towards the mid-twenties. Last year behind the wheel of the #36 he made two starts at 1.5 mile tracks and he had results of 21st (Texas) and 23rd (Homestead). Last year at Las Vegas in the lower series, Nemechek finished 2nd in the spring and finished 8th in the fall.
Bubba Wallace – At Las Vegas, look for Bubba Wallace to be a low to mid-twenties driver. That’s essentially how the #43 team stacks up against the competition at 1.5 mile tracks in incident free races. At “Sin City” over his three incident free races, Wallace has a 23.3 average finish. Last fall at Las Vegas, he finished 23rd, had a 24th place average running position and his Green Flag Average Speed ranked as the 25th best. In spring 2019 he was a mid-twenties driver. He finished 26th and had a 23rd place average running position. In fall 2018, Wallace didn’t have a good performance and finished 38th after having front hub issues. After the Stage #2 caution he took his car to the garage. Prior to his problem he never looked better than high-twenties good. In spring 2018 in his track debut he finished 21st, earned the 22nd best driver rating and had a 23rd place average running position.
