Las Vegas NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Kurt Busch – He liked his car in first practice. This session he worked on getting his car to drive better in traffic. Late in practice it was noted he ran the fastest lap among all the competitors out on the track at the time. At the end of the session he felt really good about his car based on how well he ran on old tires compared toe the competition. .
Joey Logano – Balance wise his car is said to be close to what he had last fall. His team was confident going by what they learned from the first session.
Austin Dillon – Ten minutes into practice while he was 19th he said he’s really happy with his car and feels really good in the draft.
Ross Chastian – His car looked pretty good this session. Ten minutes in he had the best 15 lap average. Following his opening run he said, “Just a bit tight here.”
Jimmie Johnson – 5 minutes into practice when he was at the top of the speed chart his crew chief said, “Looking good.” He was good in turns 1 and 2. He’s optimistic with his car this weekend. He said there’s a lot of smiles around the 48 car.
