Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. should be near the top of your fantasy NASCAR radar at Auto Club Speedway. He’s a recent winner who ranks among the best over the last couple of races at this worn out 2.0 mile oval. Over the last three Auto Club races, Truex has a 4.3 average finish, a 6.3 average running position and his driver rating ranks as the 2nd best. Last year at Auto Club, Truex Jr. had a great car, but he finished an asterisk mark 8th. In the race he started deep in the field in 27th, but quickly advanced in the running order. On lap 59 while he was running near the top five, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun and Truex Jr. got a good amount of right rear damage from the incident. Truex’s car was never the same after that and prior to the incident he felt like he had a car that could’ve won. In 2018, Truex Jr. was the class of the field. He started on the pole, won Stage #1, won Stage #2, earned a perfect driver rating, led a race high 125 laps and of course finished 1st when the checkered flag waved. His margin of victory was a staggering 11.6 seconds! In 2017, Truex Jr. had a phenomenal car. When the race reached its conclusion he earned the 2nd best driver rating, finished 4th, had a 3rd place average running position and led 73 laps. If there wasn’t a late caution he was a lock to finish 2nd. Additionally, Truex finished 2nd in Stage #1, and won Stage #2. On Sunday, look for Truex to finish in the top five and compete for the win.

Joey Logano – Joey Logano is primed to have a strong showing at Auto Club Speedway. He’s been very consistent here and on Sunday look for him to finish in the top five and compete for the win. Over the last four Auto Club races he’s finished in the top five every race, has a series best 4.0 average finish, a 6.0 average running position and his driver rating ranks a the 3rd best. Last year at Auto Club, Logano had his best performance at this worn out 2.0 mile oval. When the checkered flag waved he finished 2nd, earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 4th place average running position, finished 2nd in Stage #1 and finished 4th in Stage #2. Additionally, Logano had the 2nd best Green Flag Average Speed and ranked as the 2nd Fastest Driver Late In A Run. In 2018, Logano had a great performance. He finished 5th, had a 5th place average running position and earned the 4th best driver rating. Additionally, he finished 3rd in Stage #1 and 6th in Stage #2. In the three races prior to that he had results of 5th, 4th and 7th.
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch is a super-elite performer at Auto Club Speedway who’ll be tough to beat. He had a dominant performance last year, and he’s thrived at this worn out 2.0 mile oval. Since 2011 minus 2016 where he had a flat tire while running in 2nd with 3 laps to go he has 3 wins, six results in the top 3, he’s finished in the top 8 every race, has a 2.3 average finish, a 3.3 average running position and he’s averaged leading 80.6 laps per race. Last year at Auto Club, Kyle Busch was the class of the field. He finished 1st, won the first two Stages, earned a near perfect driver rating, led 134 laps and had a 3rd place average running position. Additionally, Busch ranked as the Fastest Driver Late In A Run and his Green Flag Average Speed was the best by .4 MPH! What makes his performance standout even more is that his afternoon wasn’t incident free. Right after he won Stage #2 he was caught speeding on pit road. In 2018, Busch had a great car. When the checkered flag waved he finished 3rd, earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 2nd place average running position and led 62 laps. Additionally, he finished 2nd in Stage #1 and 3rd in Stage #2. In 2017, Busch had a solid showing. He finished 8th, had a 6th place average running position and earned the 6th best driver rating. Joe Gibbs Racing was in a performance lull at that point in time so that was pretty good. In 2016 he had a flat tire while running in 2nd with 3 laps to go. In the four races prior to that he had results of 1st, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Last year at 2.0 mile ovals, Busch’s 4.0 average finish was tied for the best. At high-tire wear intermediates last year he had a 6.6 average finish.
