Auto Club NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Kyle Busch – 20 minutes into practice he brushed the wall and got a little bit of damage. Jeff Gordon really liked his speed late in a run. Busch said his car got away from him over the bumps. 30 minutes into practice he had the best 15 lap average. His team repaired his car and he returned to the track. His car looks strong this weekend.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Said his car was pretty good in practice #1. In practice #1 he was tight in race runs, loose during his qualifying run. 25 minutes into Happy Hour while he was 18th he was happy with his car. “By far best it’s turned, just needing overall grip.” 45 minutes into practice he said”It made me a tick tight center, but helped me turn off,”
Ryan Blaney – His car showed really good speed early this session over his opening run. His speed late in a run was really good compared to the competition at that point in practice. 30 minutes into practice he had the best 20 lap average.
Alex Bowman – His car showed really good speed this practice session. 25 minutes into practice while he was 2nd he said, “Little bit free into Turn 3, but not bad.” 35 minutes into practice he said, “Got me chasing it on entry, so I couldn’t get to the bottom as well.” Late in practice when he put on fresh tires he jumped to the top of the speed chart over his final run.
