Martinsville Post Qualifying Draw Fantasy NASCAR Predictions
The NASCAR Cup Series is off to a (probably) rains Martinsville Speedway on Wednesday night, but the forecast does seem to be getting a little better as the week goes on. One thing to know about Martinsville is that many of the same drivers constantly finish up front here. We’re talking the same three or four guys always finishing inside the top 5. So from a fantasy perspective, the top guys are pretty easy to predict. Where you win is by picking the right guys underneath them. Random draw set the starting order for Wednesday night’s race and you can see the full starting lineup by clicking here. Ryan Blaney is on the pole.

Final Top 25 Fantasy NASCAR Rankings for the Blu-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500
1. Martin Truex, Jr. – Starts 5th – DraftKings Price: $10,300 – FanDuel Price: $14,000 – Slingshot Price: $12,000
Truex broke through for his first win here at Martinsville last season, and he also grabbed his first top 5 of the season on Sunday at Atlanta. How about adding another notch to those categories? Martin has finished 4th or better in four of his last five starts here at Martinsville, with the only exception being his 8th-place run in the first race here last season. Additionally, the #19 Toyota has been very fast this season, ranking 3rd-fastest in green flag speed (click here for the cheat sheet), even though Truex isn’t really getting the finishes he deserves. As is usually the case, though, the finishes will come. I think now that this #19 team got the monkey off their back and finally got a top 5 finish in 2020, we’ll see them in victory lane soon. It may even be this week.
2. Kyle Busch – Starts 7th – DraftKings Price: $10,700 – FanDuel Price: $14,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,500
Kyle Busch will be a factor in the Blu-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500. Somehow, he’s only won two Cup Series races here at Martinsville Speedway, but he owns 16 top 5 finishes in his 29 career starts here (55.2%) and owns the 4th-best average finish (12.1) among active drivers at this track–right behind Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, and Brad Keselowski, who have a combined 16 wins between them. What you really have to like about Rowdy this week, though, is the surge in speed from Joe Gibbs Racing; after posting the best green flag speed ranking at Bristol a couple of races ago, Kyle had the 3rd-fastest speed at Atlanta (plus he finished 2nd in the race). Busch has eight top 5s in the last nine Martinsville races. Look for him to make it nine of ten after Wednesday night.
3. Brad Keselowski – Starts 6th – DraftKings Price: $9,500 – FanDuel Price: $13,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,100
It’s weird to say that Brad Keselowski had a disappointing finish at Atlanta on Sunday, but him not ending up in the top 5 was kind of a disappointment. Don’t expect that to happen two races in a row, though. Brad is a master at Martinsville Speedway and a two-time winner at this race track, including a dominating performance in the first race here last season. He also has seven top 5 finishes in the last eight races here. Additionally, Keselowski ranks at or near the top in green flag speed here at Martinsville over the last three years (click here to see those statistics), as well as 4th-best on that chart for this 2020 season (click here for the Cheat Sheet). Momentum-wise, Kez has single-digit finishes in each of the last five Cup Series races this season. He should easily make it six in a row on Wednesday night.
