Homestead Race Notes
Denny Hamlin who won the pole selected to start in the inside lane. He was back to 3rd after the first lap.
On lap 1, Kevin Harvick took the lead and he led the opening 20 laps. His car all evening was fast over short runs, but wasn’t as competitive over long runs.

Martin Truex Jr.’s car excelled over long runs (Fastest Driver Late In A Run). On lap 21, Truex Jr. passed Kevin Harvick for the lead and then proceeded to lead the next 18 laps. Pre-race, Martin Truex Jr. said his car unloaded the best it did all season. His car was said to be “Super fast” in the middle of the corner.
Denny Hamlin’s car was said to be too tight early. On lap 19 he was running in 3rd.

During the Stage pit stop it was mentinoed that Martin Truex Jr.’s team told him to take it easy because his car was so good.
Notable Moment: On lap 89, Ryan Newman made an unexpected pit stop. He finished just outside the top ten in Stage #1. He had a loose wheel. This dropped him a lap down.

Big Moment: On lap 122 while leading, Martin Truex Jr. who was the leader before the pit cycle came back to pit road. His tires were put on the wrong side of the car. It dropped him a lap down back to 13th.
