Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – New Hampshire
Chase Elliott – Last year at New Hampshire, Chase Elliott finished 29th, but that’s an asterisk mark result. Around lap 110 under caution his team went under his hood because of a water pressure issue, and this dropped him multiple laps down which doomed his afternoon. Just prior to this problem he was running around 12th.
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson finished 30th at New Hampshire last year, but you can disregard that result. On lap 148 while he was running just outside the top ten he radioed his team that he had no power steering and then came to pit road for repair. This dropped him multiple laps down which doomed him to a poor result.
Kurt Busch – Kurt Busch was a top ten contender last year at New Hampshire, but a late caution was extremely detrimental to him and led to an asterisk mark 18th place finish. With 39 laps to go he was in 6th, but then a few laps later a caution came out and he took two tires which put him at a tire disadvantage with a lot of drivers behind him taking 4, which led to him fading. From the race I’ll note he had a 7.7 average running position and finished 10th in Stage #2.
