Big Moment: Before the green flag waved, Joey Logano broke his rear axle and went to the garage. He returned to the track several laps down after his team fixed the problem.

Denny Hamlin who started on the pole selected to start in the outside lane. He led the opening 11 laps. Of the first 75 laps, he led 74 of them.

Big Moment: On lap 8, Chase Elliott slowed on the track. His engine blew up. This marked the end of his race and led to his last place finish (38th).

Jimmie Johnson had a fast car. He started in 11th and was up to 6th on lap 18.

Notable Moment: Around lap 80, Aric Almirola was caught speeding on pit road. Before the pit cycle started he was running around 8th. Newman and Bubba Wallace were also caught speeding. This dropped Almirola 1 lap down. It dropped Newman and Wallace 2 laps down.

During the Stage #2 caution, Clint Bowyer and Brad Keselowski had contact on pit road. The damage seemed to have a minor impact on both of them competitively.
