Richmond Fantasy NASCAR Predictions
The 2020 NASCAR Playoffs continues on this weekend with the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond. Typically this would be the second race here at Richmond this season, but that’s not the case because of how the pandemic affected this year. So instead of having earlier season data to look at, we just have similar tracks, which are Phoenix and New Hampshire. You could also throw in Martinsville since it’s short and flat, but I don’t.
Goodyear is bringing the same tire combination this weekend that was used at Phoenix and New Hampshire, and Kevin Harvick will lead the field to the green on Saturday night. You can click here for the full starting lineup for the 2020 Federated Auto Parts 400 race.

Final Top 25 Fantasy NASCAR Rankings for the Federated Auto Parts 400
1. Martin Truex, Jr. – Starts 14th – DraftKings Price: $10,900 – FanDuel Price: $13,000 – Slingshot Price: $12,800
Redemption! Sweet redemption! That’s what I think Martin Truex, Jr. will get this weekend at Richmond after that questionable move he made at Darlington. This #19 team is clicking on all cylinders right now, and Truex has absolutely dominated Richmond lately, leading 100+ laps in each of the last five races here, and over 150 in three of those five. This year on the shorter flat tracks, Truex had a solid top 5 car at Phoenix but had issues and finished in the 30s, and then he ended up 3rd at New Hampshire back in August. The #19 Toyota will roll off the grid from 14th here on Saturday night, and while he may not have as much of a dominating performance as we’re used to because of that, I still think Truex gets to victory lane when it’s all said and done–just like he did in both Richmond races last season.
2. Kevin Harvick – Starts 1st – DraftKings Price: $11,300 – FanDuel Price: $14,000 – Slingshot Price: $13,000
Of course Kevin Harvick is going to be a contender here at Richmond on Saturday night. The guy has an average finish of 6.4 this season! Oh, and in case you missed my tweet earlier this week, the last 12 non-Daytona races this season have all ended with the #4 Ford inside the top 5. Also, thanks to his win at Darlington last weekend, Harvick will have the best pit stall here on Saturday night so… yeah. Over the last four Richmond races plus this year’s Phoenix and New Hampshire events, the #4 Ford has the 2nd-best average running position (5.5) and also the 2nd-most fastest laps per race (34.2). Harvick finished 5th at New Hampshire and 2nd at Phoenix this year. Here at Richmond, he’s a three-time winner with six top 5s in the last eight events. Need I say more?
3. Joey Logano – Starts 2nd – DraftKings Price: $9,300 – FanDuel Price: $12,200 – Slingshot Price: $11,000
Honestly, Joey Logano has a shot at being one of the dominators here at Richmond on Saturday night. Remember, Phoenix is the most similar track to Richmond on the schedule, and Logano went to victory lane in the desert earlier this year. This weekend, Kevin Harvick is the obvious choice to be the main dominator, but don’t forget that the #4 team tends to struggle a little bit in night races–at least in terms of being the fastest car on the track. As far as Logano goes, he’s finished 6th or better in eight of his last twelve starts at Richmond and two wins and two runner-up finishes as well. On the short, flat tracks this season, Joey has the 2nd-best average running position (6.2), which is tied with Harvick.
