Bristol Race Notes
Brad Keselowski who started on the pole led the opening 62 laps. Keselowski choose to start in the outside lane.
Notable Moment: On lap 7 while running in 22nd, Ryan Newman spun. He didn’t hit anything or get damage. This brought out the first caution.

During the lap 22 competition caution, many front runners didn’t pit. Denny Hamlin and Erik Jones were two notables who did.
- Corey LaJoie who was running in the high-twenties was caught speeding on pit road during the competition caution.

On lap 62, the second competition caution came out ……
- Matt DiBenedetto didn’t pit during the competition caution which got him the lead. Everyone else did.
- During the second competition caution, Kyle Busch and Daniel Suarez both got speeding penalties.
Brad Keselowski quickly retook the lead during the restart from Matt DiBenedetto who was on old tires.

Ryan Blaney won the race off pit road following the Stage #1 caution. He then led the next 39 laps.
During the Stage #1 caution …
- Matt DiBenedetto was caught speeding. He finished 7th in Stage 1.
- Alex Bowman made a second pit stop to tighten lug nuts. He was running just outside the top ten at the time.

Big Moment: While running in 2nd on lap 200, Ryan Blaney spun and Ty Dillon plowed into him. Blaney was battling for the lead at the time. This ended both drivers afternoons.

Big Moment: On lap 230, a “Big One” ensued. Drivers collected were Tyler Reddick, Alex Bowman, Cole Custer, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Ryan Preece, John Hunter Nemechek and Matt DiBenedetto. This caution actually brought out a red flag. This was a knock out blow for the afternoons of Stenhouse, Custer, Reddick and Alex Bowman. Kurt Busch also got some minor damage, but he was able to continue.

Quite a few drivers pitted during the caution. 13 didn’t.
