Charlotte Roval Fantasy NASCAR Predictions
After crossing off the final superspeedway race of the season last Sunday at Talladega, the NASCAR Cup Series now travels to Charlotte for the ROVAL event and the final road course race of the season. Just like superspeedways, some Fantasy NASCAR players love road courses and some hate them, with the reason being, these tracks are so long that many teams try and gamble with different strategies because the possibilities are endless. Denny Hamlin is on the pole for the second race in a row you can click here for the full starting lineup for the 2020 Charlotte ROVAL race.

Final Top 25 Fantasy NASCAR Rankings for the Charlotte ROVAL
1. Chase Elliott – Starts 2nd – DraftKings Price: $10,600 – FanDuel Price: $13,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,600
If you read anyone else’s Fantasy NASCAR stuff this weekend and they don’t have Chase Elliott ranked #1, they’re either doing it on purpose just to be different, or they don’t know what they’re doing at all. Chase Elliott is the elite road course racer right now. Here at the Charlotte ROVAL, he finished 6th in this inaugural race, and then starting 19th but still led 35 laps en route to victory lane. Oh, and did I mention he went head first in the turn one wall during that race and still recovered to win? Additionally, Chase won the Daytona Road Course race this season, and he also won the Watkins Glen race in 2019, which gives him three straight wins on this track type. If Chase doesn’t finish top 3 on Sunday it’ll be due to something crazy/unexpected.
2. Martin Truex, Jr. – Starts 7th – DraftKings Price: $10,300 – FanDuel Price: $13,200 – Slingshot Price: $12,500
Right now, it’s Chase Elliott and Martin Truex, Jr. that are head and shoulders above the rest of the Cup Series garage when it comes to road course tracks. Looking at earlier year at the Daytona Road Course, Truex overcame a costly speeding penalty and still wound up 3rd in that race, and I think he would have given Chase a run for his money if there would have been a late caution. Additionally, in all of the the road course events since the start of 2019, Truex has the best average running position (5.9) as as well as the best average finish (3.3). Truex hasn’t finished better than 7th here at the Charlotte ROVAL yet but that should change this weekend. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins it, honestly.
3. Denny Hamlin – Starts 1st – DraftKings Price: $9,700 – FanDuel Price: $12,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,200
Denny Hamlin is a legitimate threat to win this race from the pole on Sunday. It also wouldn’t surprise me to see the #11 Toyota lead quite a bit of this weekend’s race, but there is one downside he has about him: Chase Elliott is starting 2nd, and Chase has been dominant not only at the Charlotte ROVAL before, but also at road course tracks in general. Still, in the four road course races ran since the start of 2019, Denny Hamlin has the 2nd-best average finish (7.3) and the 4th-best average running position (11.2). At this year’s only other road course event–at the Daytona Road Course–Hamlin had the 2nd-best average running position and also finished 2nd. Don’t let his average finish of 15.5 here at the Charlotte ROVAL fool you; Denny is a solid road course racer and is a threat to get another win in this round of the Playoffs.
