Kansas 2 Fantasy NASCAR Predictions
Round 3 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs starts this weekend with the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. We last raced here back in July and that was the first 1.5-mile race where Joe Gibbs Racing actually showed some solid speed. Denny Hamlin won the race that night. This time, the drivers will have to deal with Kansas during the day, and the good news for us fantasy players is that there’s a ton of 1.5-mile track data to go off of this year. Chase Elliott is on the pole thanks to his win at the ROVAL last weekend and you can click here for the full starting lineup for the 2020 Hollywood Casino 400 Kansas race.

Final Top 25 Fantasy NASCAR Rankings for the Kansas Hollywood Casino 400
1. Martin Truex, Jr. – Starts 5th – DraftKings Price: $11,000 – FanDuel Price: $12,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,600
Joe Gibbs Racing has won four of the last seven Kansas races, with Denny Hamlin winning the two most recent while Martin Truex, Jr. swept the events here back in 2017. Overall, Truex has finished 6th or better in six of his last seven starts here at Kansas, and four of those six were podium (top 3) results. This season on the low-wear 1.5-mile tracks, Truex is averaging the 3rd-most fastest laps (24.6 per race) and has the 5th-best finish (10.6). His average running position of 9.3 over the seven low-wear 1.5-mile races in 2020 ranks 4th-best in the series. Ten of the last 14 Cup Series races this season have ended with Truex inside the top 5 at the end. He should make it 11 of the last 15 here on Sunday.
2. Denny Hamlin – Starts 7th – DraftKings Price: $10,600 – FanDuel Price: $13,500 – Slingshot Price: $12,800
If you have a reason to not pick Denny Hamlin this weekend, I’d like to hear it. He’s won the last two races here at Kansas, including the one here this season, and has led 210 laps along the way. On the low-wear 1.5-mile tracks overall this season, Denny is averaging the 5th-most fastest laps (18.6 per race) and the 6th-most laps led (27 per race). What you really have to like about Hamlin this weekend is how this #11 Toyota has turned things up a notch recently at 1.5-mile tracks: in addition to winning Homestead and Kansas earlier this year, Denny also had the best car at Las Vegas last month, which was the most recent 1.5-miler we visited.
3. Chase Elliott – Starts 1st – DraftKings Price: $11,200 – FanDuel Price: $13,000 – Slingshot Price: $11,600
Thanks to his win at the Charlotte ROVAL last weekend, Chase Elliott will have his best starting position ever here at Kansas on Sunday, as the #9 Chevrolet will roll off from the pole in the Hollywood Casino 400. This is the first time Chase has started better than 10th at this track, but that definitely hasn’t held back his success here; over the last six Kansas races, Elliott hasn’t finished worse than 12th and he also has four top 4 finishes during that span, including a win in the fall 2018 race. On the low-wear 1.5-mile tracks this season, Chase has the 3rd-best average running position (8.5), the 2nd-most fastest laps (27.4 per race) and the 3rd-most laps led (29.9 per race). He should be a threat to win here on Sunday.
