Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick had a solid car this summer at Martinsville, but battery problems in the last Stage did him in and led to a 15th place finish. In the race, Harvick finished 8th in Stage #1, 5th in Stage #2 and his 6.8 average running position ranked as the 3rd best. With about 100 laps to go he was running around 7th, but then over the last 20% of the race, his car really started to drop off.
Austin Dillon – Austin Dillon’s race at Martinsville this summer was over on lap #1. When the race went green, Dillon had a flat tire and then on lap 5 it came apart and damaged his car. The most notable damage was he no longer had crush panels and that eventually led to him exiting his car around lap 400 which doomed him to a 37th place finish.
Aric Almirola – Aric Almirola led the opening 19 laps this summer at Martinsville, but then on lap 55, Joey Logano was hot on his bumper to put him a lap down. Almirola’s car wasn’t good after the opening laps and he also had major battery problems which led to his 33rd place finish.
