Notable Moment: When the race went green, Kurt Busch had to serve a pass through penalty for failing inspection three times. It dropped him a lap down.
Chase Elliott who started on the pole led the opening 26 laps until the competition caution. Those were the only laps he led all afternoon.
BJ McLeod coasted to pit road on lap 7. His team brought a superspeedway car to the track this weekend.
On lap 8 it was reported that the race pace had already dropped off a full second.

Big Moment: On lap 31 during the restart lap, William Byron had contact with the wall which led to an unexpected pit stop. He was running in 14th at the time of his problem. Byron had a fair amount of damage to his car. The pit stop dropped him 4 laps down which killed his afternoon. He had a tire go down which led to him getting into the wall.

On lap 37, Kevin Harvick passed Joey Logano for the lead and he then led the next 29.
On lap 50, Chase Elliott said he had his hands full. He was running in 7th at the time.
