Dirt Track Racing Resumes heading to Bristol Dirt #3
This weekend NASCAR will race at Bristol Dirt! It will mark the first time in over 50 YEARS since the premiere series raced on this type of surface. “Bristol Dirt” should be viewed as a new track, and don’t fall for the trap thinking “Regular Bristol Success” will translate into a good afternoon, because this is a whole different beast now. Below are “Dirt Track Racing Resumes” of drivers who’ll be racing at Bristol Dirt!
This is a series of posts that will come out over the course of the week. Also, more information will likely be added to this post in terms of how drivers are preparing or their past experience on dirt.

Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell is a dirt racing super star who’ll be a favorite along with Kyle Larson. Bell is a former Eldora winner, a three-time Chili Bowl Champion and his racing background is heavy in dirt racing. At Eldora, Bell has three races under his belt and has run well in every event. In 2015 when he made his first start, Bell finished 1st and led 106 laps. In 2016 he finished 2nd. In 2017 he led 22 laps and finished 9th.
Bubba Wallace – Bubba Wallace is a former Eldora winner who’ll have a big advantage on much of the field. On Saturday he’ll be racing there in the Truck Series. That extra track time could prove to be a big plus. At Eldora, Wallace has two starts under his belt. In 2013 when the track made its debut he finished 7th. In 2014 in his most recent race he led 97 laps and raced his way to victory lane.
Joey Logano – To prepare for Bristol Dirt, Joey Logano has done some dirt track testing, did a dirt race earlier this year and last week he also raced at Bristol Dirt in an Open Modified Class car. Last week at Bristol Dirt, Logano finished 6th in his Heat Race but his engine blew up in a later event. Earlier this year, Logano raced at Volusia Raceway and finished 3rd despite starting last in the 19 car field.
