Nashville Early Fantasy NASCAR Rankings/Tiering
On Sunday, NASCAR will be racing at Nashville. Here’s early tiered rankings for Nashville. On Saturday, NASCAR will have a practice session and then following that Confidence Rankings will come out. On Sunday following qualifying, Final Rankings will come out.
Tier #1
Kyle Larson – At Nashville, the road to victory lane will likely go thru Kyle Larson. Heading into the weekend, Larson has back to back wins and if he didn’t have problems at Kansas, then Larson would likely have six straight results in the top 2. What makes Kyle Larson so good is that the #5 car is fast and in 4 of the last 5 races (not counting COTA) he’s had the best Total Speed Ranking. This year at 1.5 mile tracks, Kyle Larson has been the class of the field and at the two 750 HP intermediates (Darlington and Dover) visited he has a pair of 2nd’s. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Larson ranks #1 at 1.5 mile tracks and he’s also #1 at 750 HP intermediates.
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott is primed to have a strong performance at Nashville. The #9 team is clicking off good results and over the last six races heading into the weekend he has a series best 3.3 average finish. At the two 750 HP intermediates visited over the stretch he had results of 3rd (Dover) and 7th (Darlington). At the last two 1.5 mile tracks visited, Elliott has results of 2nd (Charlotte) and 5th (Kansas).
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch will be a top contender at Nashville. The #18 team is hot, and since Kansas minus Dover (engine issues) his average finish is 4.4. One attribute you have to like about Busch is how strong he’s been at 1.5 mile tracks. This year at 1.5 mile tracks he has a series best 4.4 average finish and his Total Speed Ranking is the 4th best. At Nashville “Back In The Day”, Busch raced his way to victory lane three-times and since 2009 he’s finished in the top 3 every race (last visited in 2011).
William Byron – William Byron is a lock for a good finish at Nashville. This year minus the Daytona 500 and road courses he’s finished in the top ten every race and has a 5.4 average finish. This year at 1.5 mile tracks, Byron has the 3rd best average finish (6.0) and the 2nd best Total Speed Ranking. At 750 HP intermediates he has the 2nd best average finish (4.0) and the 2nd best Total Speed Ranking.
