Tier #1 Super Elite
1) Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch is a super elite performer at New Hampshire and in 7 of the last 13 races he’s finished in the top 13. On Sunday, Busch is starting on the pole. The last time he started first at “The Magic Mile”, Busch raced his way to victory lane. In terms of Total Speed Ranking momentum, Busch is #1 and in 5 of the last 6 races heading into the weekend he’s ranked in the top 3 in terms of speed.
2) Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. is emerging from his slump and at New Hampshire he’ll be a force to be reckoned with. Truex has never won here, but over the last six races he sports a series best average finish (4.7), average running position (5.6) and laps led per race (78.8.). This year at shorter-flat tracks, Truex won at Phoenix (led 64 laps, best Total Speed Ranking in segments 3 and 4) and finished 5th at Richmond (led 107 laps, best Total Speed Ranking).
3) Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin is one of the best in the business at New Hampshire and currently has back to back runner-ups. Hamlin would’ve won in 2019 if there wasn’t a late caution. This year at shorter-flat tracks, Hamlin led 207 laps at Richmond and finished 2nd and at Phoenix he led 33 and finished 3rd. Hamlin is tied for the best Total Speed Ranking at shorter-flat tracks this season.
